For the sake of art and beauty most people are willing to spend their money. That's because it is in our nature to make things pleasing to our eyes. Things which are beautiful to our eyes make us feel good about ourselves. It also creates a positive attitude or a positive vibe. These are a few of the reasons why we redecorate our house every now and then.

However there are some people who think that when we decorate our humble abode, we should not focus on aesthetic beauty alone. People say that your dream house is the fulfillment of your dreams and ambitions. It is the symbol of one's success. For the first time I am coming home to my dream house. It is no mansion. The house is ideal in warm or tropical countries. It is cool and cozy. To make it look homey I have added several hanging plants. I have also decorated the windows with exterior shutters to make it look perfect. Having my own dream house give me a sense of fulfillment. But I feel sad and lonely that I am no longer living with my parents. I know that I will miss all the noise and fuss in my old home. But I know that I can always come back home to them anytime.

Exterior Wood Shutters Give The House An Elegant Look

Shelter is one of the basic needs of man. Everybody should have the right for a decent home and yet there are so many homeless people around us especially the ones who have been victims of natural calamities such as earthquakes and typhoons. One of these acts of nature, Typhoon Yolanda, has not only displaced thousands of families but has taken thousands of the lives as well. It is quite heartbreaking to see them in their make shift homes. Listening to how they struggle for survival and only depending on the relief operations conducted by the non-government sectors here and abroad is even more heartbreaking. I know how they feel since my family has suffered the wrath of typhoon Yolanda as well.

The great ancestral house which had been a home to my mom, her siblings and our late grand parents for so many years was also in rubble. Except of the hundreds of coconut trees and bamboos that were swept by the strong winds of Yolanda, the crops are spared. And the most important thing of all is that nobody in the family was hurt. Currently, my relatives are rebuilding the ancestral house from scratch. Amazingly, they are working with the final touches. As per request, exterior wood shutters were added to the exterior windows which give the house an elegant look. The window shutters also give the house a modern look considering that design of the ancestral house really looks so ancient. The exterior wood shutters have complemented the house and made it look less scary and haunted.

We are all praying that nothing like this will happen to anyone ever again. Houses can be restored again in just a few months but it will take years or probably never for a broken spirit to be restored again.
