My Grandmother's 84th Birthday Present

Our homes, cars, clothes, and other properties reflect our success in life. Success according to her is freedom from being enslaved by our wants of possessing all the material things in the world which oftentimes make us forget where we came from.  These riches are only temporary and therefore we cannot carry them to our grave. Her words may sound too profound and too deep to comprehend at times. But I suppose that is because she really struggled to get to where she is right now. Her rags-to-riches story is famous in their town and she did it all because of hard work and determination.

 

Her house may not look as grand as everyone thought but her dream house is neither a mansion nor a castle. It is a bungalow type house with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, one kitchen, a car port, a beautifully trimmed lawn and an awesome vegetable garden near her kitchen. Her house is surrounded with trees because of its natural cooling effect. But what I love about her house is that it has wide windows for proper ventilation and natural sunlight.
